When people around the world begin unexplainably sleepwalking with no way to wake them, a fearless teenage girl follows her sister and a growing flock of sleepwalkers as society collapses into an apocalypse.

The story centers on Shana, a brave farm girl determined to protect her younger sister Nessie, the first sleepwalker, as more join the flock and cross the country toward an unknown destination.
Alongside her are other “shepherds” who protect the walkers, including Benji, a disgraced young doctor searching for a cure; Sadie, an AI scientist who guides them through her AI program, Black Swan; and unexpected allies like Pete, a washed-up rockstar hiding his truth, and Marcy, a former cop who believes the walkers are angels.
As the world unravels, power struggles erupt. Matthew, a conflicted priest, is pulled into a right-wing crusade by Ozark, a ruthless landowner who turns the crisis into a propaganda machine. But when Matthew realizes Ozark’s true motives, their alliance shatters, just as a deadly fungal outbreak, White Mask, reveals the flock’s real purpose: the sleepwalkers are immune and humanity’s last chance for survival.
With society collapsing, the shepherds must guide the flock to safety, protect them from fanatics, and face impossible choices as the world slips further into chaos.
